Dalhousie is a small hill station located on the north eastern side of the state capital Shimla and Manali. This hill station has been named after the Lord

Dalhousie town is also developed on five hills named as Kathalagh, Potreyn, Terah, Bhangora and Bakrota. Shimla is also made on the group of seven hills. Subash Bauli is located 1 km away from the Dalhousie main market. It is calm place encircled with a lush green fauna of Manali. Netaji Subash Chandera used to meditate around this place so it got its name Subash Baoli.
Kalatop is the dense forest area located 5 km above Dalhousie towards Khajjiar. Kalatop is worth visiting because of the Wildlife sanctuary located in it. Travelers also can hike up to the century from Dalhousie, however, a taxi is a preferable way go there. Three main species Serow, Pheasant and Bear can easily be found in the sanctuary.
Dainkund is a top list spot which is located 6 km away from the Lakkar Mandi. Top of this hill is under the supervision of Indian Air Force. All the vehicles need to be parked at IAF barrier. The place is famous because of the singing birds and various flowers grew around the meadow.
Bada Pathar is the well-known place because of a temple of Bhulwani Mata here. The place is located 4 km away from Dalhousie on the way to Kalatop. Bada pathar also have a potato farm, location is rich with fragrant of western Himalayan vegetation.
Khajjiar is a picturesque location 22 km away from the Dalhousie. Khajji Nag temple has been made here in the 12th century. That is why Khajjiar got its name as Khajjiar. Khajjiar as the location is a green plate with a small lake in the middle. This location is surrounded by densely forested green pine trees. Travellers have a lot of things to do including horse riding, Jungle walk and sitting and resting on the green grass. A full round of the Khajjiar ground can be done by horse.
