Manali is located 40 km north from the Kullu town towards the Leh – highway. People who love water sports and snow sports for them Manali tour is a must. Manali is quite famous being a key tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh. As per old spiritual significance of Manali, It is believed to be the home of rishi Manu who has saved the world from the great flood. Hindu methodology says, Matsya Avtar of Vishnu advised rishi Manu to make a giant boat to save the world. He came to live in Manali to recreate the world.
Manali town also used to be a halting village for the merchants and travelers who used to go ahead to Ladakh and Leh during the old time. How to reach Manali
Manali is not very much far from the Kullu town. People usually have Kullu and Manali tour together to see the famous sights of these two places. Manali can be accessed by air and by road transport.
Manali by Road
Manali can mostly be reached using the national highway 22 originating from Chandigarh. Manali is also connected with Shimla by the combination of national highway 22 and national highway 88. It takes 8 hours of travel time by road from Shimla to reach Manali. Similarly, travelers could reach Manali from Chandigarh using national highway 22 spending 10 hours of journey by road.

Manali by Air:-
Manali can be reached by air arriving at the airport of Bhunter located 50 km from Manali. However, this airport is smaller airport and only small aircraft can arrive at this airport. Travelers can get direct flight operated by Jagsons airlines from Delhi to Manali.
Manali by Train:-
Manali cannot be reached by train. Railway station that are scattered around Manali are Joginder Nagar ( 160 Kms a narrow gauge toy train station ), Kiratpur railways station (240 Kms), Kalka Railways Station (320 Kms), Una railways station (300 km) and Chandigarh Railways station (325 km). A railway plan is suggested to connect Bilaspur to Leh Ladakh recently. Kullu Manali can be accessed directly by railways after the completion of the-the project.
Tourist spots in Manali
Manali has tourist spots well known because of the natural attractiveness of this state or because of the spiritual significance of Manali. Snow Point in Manali

Manu Temple :
This temple is the only temple of Manu in India. It is located in old Manali known as the home of Rishi Manu.
Vashisht temple is famous for hot water springs in it. It should be included in itinerary with local sightseeing of Manali.
